AG TIPS - WHAT TO DO BEFORE REMOVING YOUR ORCHARD

Updated: Dec 27, 2021

1. SCHEDULE AHEAD

Give G&F a call early! A great time to call and get on their list is when you order your trees. This gives you enough time to get on their list, prepare your orchard, and you will need extra time if you decide to be in the air board spreading program. Before G&F can start any of the work, you're going to need a voucher so you have air board approval. G&F can help you with your application but you'll have to give them a call ahead of time and schedule early since there is a process to follow.

2. PREP YOUR FIELD

If you know you are going to pull out your orchard, do yourself a favor and pull out your drip-line, micro sprinklers, and cut out all your nylon rope throughout your trees. The reason you want to cut and pull all those things out of the field is because the power plants don't want it. And, if you plan on spreading you aren't going to want that throughout your field.

3. WOOD CHIPS SOLUTION

G&F will get this question a lot - "Can you haul the wood chips away?" To answer this question, yes, G&F has active contracts with multiple bio mass plants. So, if you don't want to spread it, give us a call and we can haul 100% of the wood away.

KEEP THESE TIPS IN MIND WHEN YOU'RE PLANNING ON PULLING YOUR ORCHARD! GIVE G&F AG SERVICES A CALL AT (209) 599-8911 AND THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO GIVE YOU A BID.
